Biojeh and Islamabad, and the Qasem-Rash

Mahabad/Balaviz/Social/The head of the Sardasht Road Management and Road Transport Department reported 20 landslides on seven roads in the city.

He said: With the efforts of the road management forces, the operation to clear the landslide site and reopen the routes was carried out in the shortest possible time.

Latif Shariatpanah added: The continuous spring rains caused landslides on some roads in the city, as a result of which traffic on some parts of the roads was limited and in some cases one-way.

He noted: With road management equipment, the operation to clear, remove and transport soil and materials from the road surface was carried out urgently in recent days.

The head of the Sardasht Road and Transportation Department continued: In this operation, about one thousand cubic meters of earth was excavated and 250 heavy vehicle services were used to move and evacuate materials from the roads.

Shariatpanah listed the Mahabad-Sardasht axis, the routes leading to the villages of Biojeh and Islamabad, and the Qasem-Rash axis as among the points that were facing traffic restrictions due to the severity of the landslide.

He noted: Currently, all of the aforementioned routes have been reopened and traffic is flowing in them with safety precautions.

The head of the Sardasht Road and Transportation Department, appreciating the round-the-clock efforts of the department’s employees, emphasized the need to implement engineering plans to stabilize landslide-prone areas and said: Ensuring safety and facilitating the passage of road users is the main priority of this department.
