The head of Mahabad Customs said: Since the beginning of this year, a total of $13 million and 593 thousand of various goods have been exported from this city’s customs in the form of 240 export declarations, which is an increase of 32 percent compared to the same period last year.
Ahmad Ahmadi added: In the first quarter of this year, petrochemical products and carpets have accounted for the largest share in the exports of this customs, and most of the exported goods have been sent to neighboring western countries.
He pointed out that the export value of Mahabad Customs in the same period last year was $10 million, adding: “The major part of the 32 percent increase in the value of exported goods this year is related to the export of products from the Mahabad Petrochemical Complex, which were exported through other customs offices in the country in previous years.”
